About

Manners Building Products introduced Hamilton Plaster Compounds to New Zealand over 30 years ago, with the first container landed by David Manners in early 1991.

At a time when there was a scant handful of setting (powder) products on the market, David introduced air-drying compounds to New Zealand and worked tirelessly promoting the qualities and benefits of using a range of specialist products.

The business started small, moving Hamilton Plaster Compounds out of a small shop front in Diana Drive, with the associated hand tools lovingly packed & shipped all over New Zealand out of his father's garage. In 1998, after significant growth in demand for Hamilton Plaster Compounds & his range of specialist tools, David moved to expand his retail presence by starting the Trowel Trades brand. The first of their kind in New Zealand, these pioneering Specialist Drywall shops grew in number and popularity.

In 2018, Manners Building Products re-branded simply as 'Manners' and strategically exited the retail space to focus on an expanding Wholesale opportunity. This allowed a greater focus on product and customer support, service, and growth within the New Zealand market.

Now, Hamilton Plaster Compounds are sold in nearly every Specialist Drywall shop in the country. With a marked increase in visibility and demand within the trade & DIY market, Hamilton Plaster Compounds are fast becoming one of New Zealand's most recognised brands.
